The Neev Literature Festival aims to acknowledge great literature for youngsters of all ages, grow readers for all times , and make reading a part of every home. The festival includes conversations between authors, publishers, educators, parents, and youngsters , also as numerous events and workshops centered on books and reading. Initialized in 2017, NLF extended the vision of the festival by introducing the Neev Book Award for recognizing and growing outstanding children’s literature from India.

Neev Lit Fest 2019 for youngsters are going to be held in Bengaluru on 20, 21 September 2019 promising another event filled with reading, conversations between children, adults and authors, Indian authors sharing their experiences, exclusive workshops for college kids , librarians & parents, and in fact the much anticipated Neev Book Awards. 

 

This year’s Neev Book Award aims to market and encourage high-quality children’s literature from India and can recognize outstanding literature in four distinct categories:

 

– Picture Books

 

– Emerging Readers

 

– Junior readers

 

– Young Adults

 

NLF 2019 will host quite 60+ celebrated international and Indian authors, illustrators and academicians like Devdutt Pattnaik, Paro Anand, Veera Hiranandani, Nandana Dev Sen, Bhakti Mathur, Susan Perrow, Katie Smith Milway, David Melling, and Samhita Arni, to call a couple of .

 

Some of the fascinating topics of dialogue in 2019 include:

 

– Digital brain vs the text brain

 

– Impact of languages on children

 

– The ever-pressing subject of communication vs text

 

– How does missing stories from history impact the planet view of youngsters 

 

– The complexity of teaching and writing history in India

 

– the continued debate of why history must be captured only through books

 

– the necessity to debate and break down topics such environment and sustainability for youngsters 

 

– the type of superheroes the fashionable generation is trying to find 

 

The Neev Literature festival may be a great opportunity to attach the youngsters with the books and instill a lifelong love of reading.
